The line from neck to shoulder cap forms a definite curve when doing a line drawing. The shoulders are round and noticeably sloped. The bone are small and delicate, but may be slightly wide. Bone Structureīone structure includes the body and the face (remember from the test that it is rare for the facial bones to NOT match the body bones). A small waist and “bouncy” flesh on the arms and legs. The body of a Romantic is soft, voluptuous, curvy, and tends toward an hourglass shape. Body Typeīody type refers to the overall impression of the body, including some flesh and some bone structure. I would say that 5’7″ is a hard stop at that’s the tallest romantic on the list, although at that height soft dramatic is more likely. You’ll notice, however, that there are celebrities above this type (Beyonce at 5’7″) but these celebrities are often debated (although supposedly verified by Kibbe). It is not the most noticeable thing, as in the Gamine family, but the upper height limit for the Romantic type is 5’6″. The Romantic family is automatically petite in the Kibbe world. I am summarizing the information in the book with addendums gathered from all over. These overall themes exist in the Romantic body, but don’t throw out the whole type because you don’t fit perfectly in every category. It is the overall dominance of soft yin and curves that makes a Kibbe Romantic. True autumn soft gamine series#
In this series you’ll find style guides for the following 10 current image id’s.
In recent years the 3 pure types of natural, classic, and gamine have been discarded. In the original book (out of print and pricey, but I own it) you’ll find there are 13 different types. The quiz found in the book is no longer considered the standard for typing, and you can read more about that in this post. These are based primarily on body type, including bone structure, flesh composition, and facial bones and features. The Kibbe typology is based upon his book Metamorphosis (1987) which describes 13 different type of styles/types/identities.
Romantic elements should be dosed very carefully, as their excess will hurt more than their deficiency. The Soft Classic style is the Classic style with a touch of the Romantic style. The foundation is a classic style that has been provided with fluidity and softness. Intense smokey eyes, defined eyeliner line, false eyelashes, very expressive lips will also not work.īelow are some examples of proper and inappropriate makeup for the Soft Classic type of beauty.Ī wardrobe appropriate for the Soft Classic type should have mostly flowing shapes, just like hairstyle and makeup. Makeup should be predominantly matte.Īvoid sharp contouring, dark eye and lip makeup, overly colorful eye shadows, or pencils. The whole look should have the effect of subdued watercolor. Shades of pink within your color type will work best on the cheeks and lips. Moderately saturated to light colors are most suitable. Neutral colors can gently mix with a bit of pastel. Smoothly combed back hair or very classic hairstyles, such as a classic bob or a French bun, are also not the most attractive idea. It is best to avoid hairstyles with sharp edges, strong layering, distinct bangs. Feminine, romantic hairdos are also great. If nature has endowed you with straight or curly hair, you should not interfere with changing its structure but only maintain them at the proper length.
Long (at least shoulder length), wavy hair will be the most attractive. A Soft Classic woman looks best in soft, flowing hairstyles.
